  2. Hey Lorette, I am writing to ask if you have an email address or phone number you could be reached at? I would like to make a submission/let you know of a certain group I am with but don’t think I could explain it all in a comments box. I was looking around to see if you had a Twitter or other contact info but couldn’t find any. Let me know. Thanks!

  3. I loved the interview with Charles Thompson. I have emailed your link to other MJ fans. The more positive reading we get the better.

Safe to say that only in a blog will the writer bring the truth of a story. The other medias only want the money.

    Thanks

  4. Hello Ms Luzajic,

I suggest,in the future, before making assumptions about black people, you should forget what you were taught as a child and make a conscious effort to meet and relate to an african america. You seen fairly intelligent Maybe then you will get the concept of what was said. (blame it on da boogie). Originally written by Michael George Jackson.DOB 11/02/1947-Born Munster, Germany. Sung by J5 1978. Seens to me that you do your share of work for the devil.

    • HI Sylvia,
I’m not totally clear on this, but I’m assuming this is in response to “Michael Jackson Worships the Devil” which talks briefly about his song Blame it on the Boogie. In that post, I took a paragraph I found where someone showed that MJ was using that song to convert people to the devil. The rest of the statements in the story were a sarcastic blast at stuff a lot of white people think, including that the beat in the drum is evil and sexual licentiousness is “from Africa.” I’m afraid I sometimes get into trouble as a writer when I’m in a particularly sarcastic mood since sometimes my readers miss the target I’m writing about. Is that what has happened here, Sylvia? I’m sorry that I’m unclear from your statement. Do you feel I was misreading the song lyrics, or that I was making negative statements about African-American people? Or that I was making fun of white people, and should forget what I was taught as a child because not all white people are as ignorant as the fundamentalist ones I’m actually making fun of in this piece? When you say concept of “what was said” are you referring to the quote I ran by the fellow who thinks the song is about devil worship? Or do you mean what was said in the song?

In my limited understanding, boogie comes from a west African word meaning “dance.” A boogie woogie was a timing device to keep rhythm in music. Boogie also referred to a style of music/dancing in Detroit.

I hope this clears that up, Sylvia, but if I’m still not getting the point, I’m willing to hear it. If my work is too vague, then I need to improve it to make sure it’s clear who I’m trying to offend and who I’m not!

      Thanks so much
      Lorette
